Update to NaNoWriMo 2023

An update to my earlier post.

Well, that was a month. I wrote 28,310 words, all on the Freewrite. I wrote every day in November (except for the 1st, since the Freewrite hadn’t arrived yet).

I was supported by all of my partners, who had to give up at least little bits of our time together to let me write. I was also supported by friends online who said encouraging things. I did not, however, actually do any daily accountability or check in with anyone. I wonder if that would help…

I will be posting a review of the Freewrite shortly. I definitely got value out of it, and appreciated having it, and the ‘shiny new toy’ appeal was effective. I also struggled with a bit of a learning curve, and I still haven’t figured out a good editing process.

On my personal Facebook, a friend asked if I intended to keep up the trend. The short answer is yes, I hope to keep writing every day, either fiction or on this blog or in a private journal. Subscribe etc if you want to see if it works!
